My current “Alevi Village” project started in 2004 when I first visited their annual festival. Since then I’ve visited the village, documenting their life and traditions with the goal of helping others better understand and appreciate the people—their culture and traditions in the village.
This documentary focuses in on the experience of one boy’s coming of age—a circumcision party in Turkey.

Kerry Lammi is currently living in Turkey where he co-owns a business. His travels and photography have taken him around North America as well as South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. His goal is to promote peace between people of different cultures and ethnic groups through the use of documentary photography. Kerry Lammi’s love for artistic expression started as a boy by drawing, building or helping his father with projects. This culminated in 1984 by receiving a B.S. in Graphic Design from Bemidji State University in MN where his love for photography began after purchasing his first camera.
