About The Visual Peacemaking Attribute Awards

Here are the 5 Attributes further defined. These can also be used as themes in various projects and self-assignments.

  1. Common Humanity – Showing connection, building bridges of peace through images\
  2. Dignity & Beauty – The intrinsic quality & value of a human being
  3. Local Context – Life among locals, a feeling of "place"
  4. Hope for Humanity – Images that show relationships, human resolve, and acts that inspire.
  5. Mysteriously Emotive – Visual poetry that emotes something unspeakable about the mysterious human experience.

When 100 votes are cast for one particular Attribute, then that member will receive the corresponding Visual Peacemaking Attribute Award to be displayed on their Peacemaker Profile.

The Visual Peacemaking Attribute Awards are entirely community-driven. These exist to help unpack the meaning of visual peacemaking. They correspond with the Ethical Code's Actions and Attitudes. Even with this added guidance, however, there is much room for interpretation.

* The voting system is for the Visual Peacemakers Community (VPC) only. It has been turned off for Guild members.
