We want to bring our craft and vision together into extraordinary technique. But technique is not an end in itself. We’re on a journey to exhibit the beauty and dignity of people in our images.
We are committed to displaying common humanity and images that build bridges of peace. We hope you can learn from our example, from one another, and we in turn will draw inspiration from the entire visual peacemaking movement.
Part of our desire is to see visual communication industries and media saturated with visual peacemakers like yourself who know how to use their vision, their craft, and their BIG hearts for the good of our world!

How to Become a Guild Member
To get a better idea of whether or not you are eligible for consideration, please review the list of criteria below. Express your interest to us by writing to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
The IGVP Founders acknowledge that many exemplary visual communicators may request entrance into the Guild. Therefore, we want to say openly now that we’re keeping the Guild small, mainly for logistical and strategic reasons. In addition to the criteria below, tell us why you think you should hold a seat in the Guild. There is a Memorandum of Understanding for Guild members that details minimum commitments. However, we’re looking for those who would go beyond minimums and instead strive for bold, generous, and innovative.
Guild Member Criteria:
- Entrance into the Guild is by invitation only from IGVP Founders. Recommendations can be made by existing Guild members. IGVP Founders maintain right of refusal. IGVP Founders will seek the counsel of existing Guild members before accepting new members.
- Endorse the IGVP Ethical Code as your own.
- Committed to displaying “common humanity” and visual communication that builds bridges of peace and breaks down stereotypes.
- Bring craft and vision together so that your visual portfolio is a display of extraordinary technique and recognized by peers as such.
- Willing to work respectfully and humbly with all Guild members.
- Have a professional & well maintained website.
- Active participant in online social media.
- Have published images (magazines, books, e-books, etc.). *Not 100% mandatory.
- Able to make unique offerings to the Visual Peacemaker Community (VPC), such as critiques, mentoring, tours, books, compelling blog content, podcasts, etc. *Not 100% mandatory.
- Portfolio includes images from 3 or more countries. *Not 100% mandatory.
