My Biography
My most well-known film is probably End of the Spear. Some of my other writing and directing credits include Miss HIV, filmed through-out Africa, Little Town of Bethlehem, filmed in the West Bank and surrounding area, and The Grandfathers, filmed in the Amazon basin of Ecuador.
I made my first career in advertising and was a Vice President at Leo Burnett in Chicago. Other former positions include head of story for Every Tribe Entertainment, and President and Chief Creative officer of EGM Films. I’m now creating motion pictures and motion novels through partnerships as well as my production company Minus Red. Minus Red is an artist film studio. Our name is homage to nonviolence and the belief that stories can foster a greater understanding of what it means to be human, and more human.
Films promise adventure, but they can also offer a space—a space in which the audience can see the other, and in which thier human longings are validated. When a film provides a cathartic experience, then audience members feel they are not alone in thier questions and concerns. We are a team and fellowship that enjoys creating that space.
