My Biography
Hi! I’m a civil engineer by training, currently working with Engineers Without Borders Canada as incoming program manager for the Water and Sanitation team in Malawi. I have lived in Malawi for nearly two years now, and have been continually interested in the representation of the ‘poor’ through photography, particularly as represented by the media and fundraising campaigns. In 2010, I began the Perspectives of Poverty project to illustrate how images of the same person, constructed differently, can communicate very different things and greatly influence our perception of the capabilities, ambitions, and plight of those struggling to overcome poverty. More of the project can be seen on my blog at: http://www.waterwellness.ca
